Solid Waste & Recycling

RECYCLING REMINDER: We want to remind residents that all recycling must be placed loose in your recycling container — do not bag your recyclables.

While this rule has always been in place, enforcement is now being tightened. The Recycling Center is no longer accepting bagged recyclables because plastic bags make it difficult and unsafe for workers to properly sort materials.

If your recycling is placed in plastic bags, it will not be accepted and may be collected with regular trash instead.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping our recycling program running smoothly and efficiently! Thank you for helping us protect the environment and support our recycling partners.

The Borough of Quakertown provides weekly curbside solid waste and recycling collection for residential customers within Borough limits. Owners of multi-family properties with 4 or more residential units are responsible for contracting with a private licensed hauler or applying to the Dumpster Service through the Borough of Quakertown. The owner must provide both trash and recycling services.
