K9 Mutt Strutt
DATE: Saturday, June 22, 2019
LOCATION: Park at 4th TIME: 9:00am
The Quakertown Borough Police K9 Unit and the Parks & Recreation Department have joined to host a K9 Mutt Strutt on June 22 from 9am-12pm. The Mutt Strutt raises money for the Police K9 Unit while bringing community members together in the Parks system.
The Mutt Strutt is fun for the whole family, including your dog! Enjoy a morning filled with activities like a mile walk, dog contests, demos, agility courses, vendors, and much more! The Mutt Strutt features activities and entertainment for 2-legged and 4-legged participants alike!
Due to health concerts, K9 Fury retired in May after 4 years of service. The Police Department has completed its search for a new K9 and selected K9 Ranger. Ranger will be completing training until October before joining the Department. The Police Department is hosting the K9 Mutt Strutt to raise money for the K9 Unit. The cost for a puppy and the initial training, supplies, equipment, etc. is roughly $14,000 on the low end. The K9 Unit is also looking to build an indoor/outdoor kennel for both K9 Ranger and Jax. This will allow the dogs to have their own space at the police station, while there handlers attend to office and paperwork inside. Every dollar raised will go directly into the K9 special fund.
REGISTRATION:This is a free event. However, all dog owners must check their dogs in at the event.
