Home MenuParks and Recreation Month
July is nationally recognized as Parks and Recreation Month, a time to celebrate the powerful impact local parks and recreation have on building stronger, healthier, and more connected communities. This year’s theme, “Build Together, Play Together,” reminds us that parks are more than just places to play—they’re where community happens.
From summer concerts and youth camps to movie nights and special events, the Quakertown Parks and Recreation Department works year-round to bring people together. These programs create opportunities for neighbors to meet, families to bond, and lifelong memories to be made—all while promoting physical and mental well-being.
We’re especially proud to share that this year our department has been selected as one of three agencies across the state to be recognized by the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society (PRPS) on Park and Recreation Professionals Day! This spotlight honors the commitment of our team and the community spirit that drives our work.
Join us in celebrating all month long. Together, we’re not just building parks, we’re building community.
