The Borough of Quakertown has entered into a three (3) year contract with J.P. Mascaro & Sons for trash and recycling collection.  This contract will serve from 10/1/19 through 9/30/22.  There is an option for a  two year extension. Mandatory Recycling

PA law requires all residents of Quakertown Borough to recycle. Borough Ordinance mandate the recycling of cans, green, clear and brown glass, and newspapers. In addition to cans, glass, and newspapers,  J.P. Mascaro & Sons will collect plastics, which can be commingled with the other items such as newspapers, magazines, junk mail, telephone books and cracker and cereal boxes can be put in their recycling can.

By Borough Ordinance trash should be placed curbside no sooner than 7 pm the night before your designated trash day. Emptied containers should be removed from the curb as soon as possible.

New residents should call J.P. Mascaro & Sons to verify their service area to know where they should put their trash out (i.e. the front or back)  

Recycling bins are available from J.P. Mascaro & Sons. It is mandatory for all Borough dwellings with three units or fewer to use J.P. Mascaro for the collection of their trash and recycling. Residents have a choice of using a cart or a pay-by-the-bag program. Residents that contract for a cart may put out the cart plus one (1) non-Borough trash bag or one (1) can each week.

Arrangements for a cart can be made by calling J.P Mascaro & Sons at 610-434-2501. Bags can be purchased in a package of 5 bags for $22.00 or 1 bag for $4.40 at Borough Hall or at these grocery stores— Redner’s Warehouse Market, and the Giant Store in the Plaza Shopping Center.

Large Trash Week 

One "bulky" item will be picked up each month during large trash week - the second full week of each month the day of your trash pickup.

Electronics Recycling Law to Impact Borough Collection

The Pennsylvania Covered Device Recycling Act was enacted in 2010 and requires consumers to keep covered devices, such as computers, laptops, monitors, and televisions, out of the trash.
